Overview

About this program

Thousands of children in rural Oromia face interrupted schooling simply because their families cannot afford the direct costs of education: exercise books, pens, school uniforms, and food inputs The Atis Nama Foundation works directly on the ground with rural primary schools, headmasters, and kebele education offices. We purchase textbooks and stationery in bulk, deliver full academic packs before the first day of each term, operate solar-powered study hubs where children without home electricity can complete their homework

“Before the foundation provided my exercise books and uniform, I had to share one notebook across five subjects. Now I have everything I need, and I achieved top marks in my class.”

— Misku Sultan, Grade 3 Student in Nekemte
